WCA Cyclocross #1, WORS #11, and more

This past weekend brought the first of several split decisions on what to race. Ben (pictured on the left) decided to skip WORS for the WCA Cyclocross race since his overall podium position is secured in WORS. This was a great decision in that he managed to finish 2nd at the CX race out of 58 contenders. Likewise, Mike did the CX race down in IL and came up with a 2nd place in the Master race. And lastly, Mike S, April D, Rob M, and I all raced well enough to take age group podiums with Mike having his "best race ever". I think that my 11th yesterday was enough to finish 10th overall in the WORS series. Goal accomplished. And, I won my age group at every race I finished = goal #2 accomplished. And, I had lots of fun along the way = goal #3 accomplished. An awesome season considering that we had more competition in town due to Adventure 212 not committing to the pro nationals in favor of WORS.
Another transitional weekend is coming up with the Grafton CX on Saturday followed by the Sheboygan MTB on Sunday. My first attempt at a CX/MTB doubleheader. Check back next week to read that exciting story.
